In wrestling action, Head Coach Mike Boyd's squad travelled to Wheaton North on December 1st to battle the host Falcons along with perennial powers Marmion Academy and Marist.
The "Grappling" Mustangs fell behind Marist 24-0 before storming back behind pins from Marty Larkin, Jake Viloria, Haku Watson and Kumani Gaye which brought St. Rita back from the brink of defeat as senior captain George Western sealed the 39-28 win. The Mustangs also defeated the host team Wheaton North 46-38 while losing to 3rd-ranked Marmion 50-20.
On Friday December 7th, St. Rita hosted 19th-ranked Providence and they dismantled the visiting Celtics 49-12, and they continued their winning ways the next day defeating #17 Yorkville 34-30 and #21 Nequa Valley 42-23.
This past weekend the Mustangs travelled to Rochester, MN to compete in one of the toughest tournaments in the country where they finished 30th out of 40 teams while senior George Western finished 7th overall.
